tickts vs Zeffy
Zeffy deserves a straight comparison: it genuinely charges your charity nothing, card fees included. The difference is who pays instead. Zeffy is funded by a contribution that appears pre-selected when your supporters pay, and there is no setting that lets a charity switch it off. On tickts nobody is asked to fund the platform, the only cost anywhere is Stripe's card fee, and every pound sits in your own Stripe account from the moment it is paid.

Why organisers switch to tickts
Zero fees without a tip jar
Zeffy's zero is funded by a contribution that appears pre-selected whenever your supporters pay, ticket buyers included, and you cannot turn it off for them: Zeffy's own help centre says no setting disables it. On tickts the price your supporter sees is the whole of it. No contribution prompt, no suggested top-up to us, ever.
Your money never sits with us
Ticket and donation money goes into your own account as each sale happens. There is no platform balance to wait on and no payout schedule between you and your funds.
Ticketing first
Seat maps, QR scanning, wallet passes, transfers and a box office that takes cash at the door. If events are the heart of your fundraising, the events tooling matters; if raffles and auctions are, Zeffy has genuine strengths there.
Optional refund protection for fans
At checkout your fans can add TicketPlan refund protection and claim the ticket price back if they cannot attend for a covered reason. It is optional, never pre-ticked, and the premium never touches your payout.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, genuinely: Zeffy charges the charity nothing, card fees included, and is funded by optional contributions supporters are invited to add at checkout. tickts also charges nothing; the only cost is Stripe's card fee of 1.5% + 20p. Figures checked August 2026.
The preset dropdown offers no zero: a supporter who wants to give nothing must choose Other and type 0. The charity cannot remove or reduce the ask on its own forms; Zeffy's help centre states the default suggestions cannot be customised, the wording cannot be changed, and no setting disables it. Zeffy's own feedback board carries a long-standing request to default the contribution to zero, which Zeffy has declined. On tickts no contribution ask exists anywhere in checkout.
Zeffy is for nonprofits and charities only. tickts works for any organiser, and Gift Aid unlocks once a charity is verified with its registration number on file.
You submit the claim to HMRC with the declarations we capture. Zeffy goes a step further and files for you; if that step matters most, it is a genuine point in their favour.
